Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S20+ appears as more powerful model
A new robot vacuum cleaner, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S20+, has been revealed on the brand’s global website. The model follows the S20, which can also be found at mi.com. Plus, the company recently launched another model, the X20+, in EU countries.
The S20+ delivers 6,000Pa suction power and dual rotary mops, matching the X20+; the S20 only has 5,000Pa and a single static mopping pad. You can choose from four cleaning modes and four suction speeds, and an edge brush helps to clean hard-to-reach areas. The robots all use LDS laser navigation with obstacle avoidance technology. Plus, the S20+ can detect a carpet and lift the mop accordingly, as can the X20+. With a 5,200mAh battery, larger than the 3,200mAh power pack in the S20, the S20+ can run for up to 170 minutes between charges. The main difference between the X20+ and the S20+ is that the latest model only charges at its dock. In contrast, the older model’s charging station also offers basic self-cleaning features like emptying the dustbin.
You can remotely control the vacuum via the Xiaomi Home or Mi Home app and with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands. It remains to be seen when the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S20+ will go on sale, in which countries and at what price. For context, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20+ retails for around €399.99; the S20+ will likely cost less than this, given its feature set.
