Xiaomi has updated its Redmi series once again, having already released Redmi Note 14 smartphones like the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus this year globally (curr. $369 on Amazon). This time, the company has presented the Redmi 13X in Vietnam as a new budget-friendly option.
In short, the Redmi 13X shares many of its specifications with the Redmi 13 4G that it introduced last year. Specifically, Xiaomi has combined a MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra chipset with a 5,030 mAh battery and a 6.79-inch IPS display. For reference, the Helio G91 Ultra provides a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, two ARM Cortex-A75 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores.
Meanwhile, the Redmi 13X can recharge its battery at up to 33 W, but only via a wired connection. On top of that, its large display outputs at 1080p with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 550 nits peak brightness (HBM). Xiaomi remarks that the Redmi 13X comes with 128 GB of storage too, as well as 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM.
Moreover, the company has installed 108 MP primary, 13 MP front-facing and 2 MP macro cameras, but within a design that is closer to the Redmi Note 14 series than last year's Redmi 13 4G. Currently, the Redmi 13X is available for VND 4,290,000 (~$168) with 6 GB of RAM or VND 4,690,000 (~$183) for its 8 GB of RAM variant. Details of any international launch remain unknown for the moment.
