If you want something that offers a good array of features – not just camera wise – then the Poco F7 Pro is a good choice. The camera performs well too, but you also get a large bright screen, impressive battery life and even 8K video recording should you need it. Of course it’s not perfect. There’s no dedicated macro mode, low light shooting isn’t amazing, and there’s no telephoto lens. Still, for the price paid the results are pretty good. Probably the biggest downside here is the lack of availability in some big territories, such as the US – but if you’re in one of the places where this sells, it’s well worth a look.

Perhaps I have been testing too many Xiaomi phones recently, but the Poco F7 Pro feels generic (dual-tone design aside). I miss the days when Poco phones were different, and not another Xiaomi phone (but with round icons instead of square ones). Thankfully, the Poco F7 Pro remains a “flagship killer” like previous models, especially at its retail price (S$669 for 256GB and S$729 for 512GB). You get good performance with some flagship niceties at an attractive price. But the battery stamina is the highlight here. Get it now from Shopee and Lazada. Those who order before April 9 can get S$30 off, and either the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro or the Redmi Buds 5 Pro as free gifts.

90% Poco F7 Pro review: The new mid-range phone to beat?

The Poco F7 Pro is, once again, a flagship killer in the truest sense. It doesn’t try to do everything – but what it does, it nails… mostly. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offers ridiculous performance for the price, the 2K AMOLED screen is simply gorgeous, and battery life is top-tier. Add in 90W charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, and some smart AI features, and you’ve got one of the most well-rounded phones at this end of the market. Sure, the ultrawide camera is basic, there’s some bloatware to remove, and I would love to see a brighter display that you can actually use outdoors – but these are nitpicks in the face of what you’re getting overall. With such an aggressive price, I think that the F7 Pro is one of the best value buys of 2025. If you care more about everyday speed, battery, and visuals than bleeding-edge camera features, the Poco F7 Pro is the phone to beat. Just be sure that the more expensive Poco F7 Ultra wouldn’t suit you better.

The Poco F7 Pro is, once again, a flagship killer in the truest sense. It doesn’t try to do everything – but what it does, it nails… mostly. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offers ridiculous performance for the price, the 2K AMOLED screen is simply gorgeous, and battery life is top-tier. Add in 90W charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, and some smart AI features, and you’ve got one of the most well-rounded phones at this end of the market. Sure, the ultrawide camera is basic, there’s some bloatware to remove, and I would love to see a brighter display that you can actually use outdoors – but these are nitpicks in the face of what you’re getting overall. With such an aggressive price, I think that the F7 Pro is one of the best value buys of 2025. If you care more about everyday speed, battery, and visuals than bleeding-edge camera features, the Poco F7 Pro is the phone to beat. Just be sure that the more expensive Poco F7 Ultra wouldn’t suit you better.

It brings a telephoto camera to the lineup and it's a standout performer not just among Pocos (which don't normally have telephotos at all), but among similarly priced competitors. Its cameraphone prowess isn't all-encompassing, like on a 'true flagship', but it's uniquely capable in its context, we think. You may have to learn to live with only a modest ultrawide, selfies are merely alright like on most other Xiaomis, there's no eSIM support (at least on our unit), and sourcing an adapter that can max out the F7 Ultra's charging speed could prove tricky. But these don't sound like dealbreaking offenses to us - maybe just the eSIM bit, and only to a certain crowd. Those aside, the F7 Ultra doesn't have any notable shortcomings. With the F7 Ultra coming in at a starting price of £650, as a phone with flagship specs, it beats the Pixel 9 which is priced the same currently on Google's store, it also beats the Galaxy S25 512GB which Samsung wants £959 for at the time of writing. The F7 Ultra is a better phone between these devices given its price and genuine flagship performance. I am sure that most people looking for a phone with the power and speed of a true flagship will not be too concerned about some highlight detail bneing lost in scenes when taking photos, but for those who spend a lot of time taking photos and videos, this will definitely be an issue and I do hope Xiaomi is listening to this feedback, as it will only enhance the potential customer base in the long run and finally we would see a true contender for ultimate flagship phone, without the crazy prices the big three brands out there are wanting these days.

In the end, I’m a bit torn with the Poco F7 Ultra. Yes, it’s Poco’s most powerful phone to date, and it has a strong spec sheet. But I don’t think it lives up to that promise of an ‘Ultra’ phone in the way Poco would like you to think. For one, its processor feels like it’s underclocked compared to other Snapdragon 8 Elite phones like the OnePlus 13 and Honor Magic 7 Pro. The 120W charging speeds don’t seem to refill the phone as quickly as it should, and the camera system is inconsistent, and not as strong as what you’d find in the more expensive ‘Ultra’ phones. That’s without mentioning the Wi-Fi connectivity issues I experienced during testing. Still, it delivers on the typical Poco benchmarks.

Alternatives at this cost include OPPO's Reno 13 Pro 5G (see review next week!), the Nothing Phone 2 and Apple's iPhone 16e. But seriously, don't buy that. It's arse juice. The Poco F7 Ultra is a powerhouse with that 8 Elite chipset, so gamers will enjoy a smooth frame rate at all times. Battery life is also excellent, even if the capacity isn't a match for the Redmi K80 Pro. With 120W fast charge on board, this phone powers back up in a crazy short time. As for the camera tech, well, the Poco F7 Ultra has made some sacrifices there vs proper 'Ultra' smartphones. The zoom lens isn't as capable, while you can't shoot 4K video with the selfie camera. Still, most people should be happy enough with the Poco F7 Ultra's skills.

With the F7 Ultra coming in at a starting price of £650, as a phone with flagship specs, it beats the Pixel 9 which is priced the same currently on Google's store, it also beats the Galaxy S25 512GB which Samsung wants £959 for at the time of writing. The F7 Ultra is a better phone between these devices given its price and genuine flagship performance. I am sure that most people looking for a phone with the power and speed of a true flagship will not be too concerned about some highlight detail bneing lost in scenes when taking photos, but for those who spend a lot of time taking photos and videos, this will definitely be an issue and I do hope Xiaomi is listening to this feedback, as it will only enhance the potential customer base in the long run and finally we would see a true contender for ultimate flagship phone, without the crazy prices the big three brands out there are wanting these days.

The Poco F7 Ultra is a solid phone for its price point, packing notable processing power, wickedly fast charging and a premium overall feel -- features that help it stand out from similarly priced phones like the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE and the OnePlus 13R. There are slight compromises when it comes to display sharpness, general lag and some camera capabilities, but the pros heavily outweigh any cons. (And, speaking of weighing, I do wish this phone were a little lighter, but that's by no means a dealbreaker.) If you're on the hunt for a phone that isn't going to break the bank but also checks the biggest boxes related to power, battery life and camera, the Poco F7 Ultra is an appealing -- and potentially eye-catching -- choice.

The Poco F7 Ultra marks a huge step for Xiaomi’s once budget brand, Poco. What makes it such a good phone is that it stays true to Poco’s roots – it’s fantastic value – and while the camera is excellent for Poco, it's just competitive in its class, though as a package, the F7 Ultra is one of the easiest phones to recommend right now. Gamers will love the price-to-performance of the Ultra. It feels premium, has a great screen, and packs double the starting storage of the Galaxy S25, plus more RAM, not to mention plenty of software value adds too, which help offset the, at times, busy HyperOS interface. It’s also excellent to see Poco take its camera so far forward by including a versatile telephoto camera.

If you’re seeking flagship-level performance but can only stretch to an upper mid-range budget, it’s hard to think of a better option than the Poco F7 Ultra. It’s superb value for money and delivers a gaming and productivity experience that’s up there with the best phones on the market. It’s only really the cameras that aren’t quite flagship-level. They’re still quite good, and certainly better than most gaming phones, but won’t match handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra or Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Otherwise, the screen, battery life and charging speeds are all top notch. It’s a pleasure to use, and so long as you’re not too picky with your photos, you’re in for an excellent time.

In the end, I’m a bit torn with the Poco F7 Ultra. Yes, it’s Poco’s most powerful phone to date, and it has a strong spec sheet. But I don’t think it lives up to that promise of an ‘Ultra’ phone in the way Poco would like you to think. For one, its processor feels like it’s underclocked compared to other Snapdragon 8 Elite phones like the OnePlus 13 and Honor Magic 7 Pro. The 120W charging speeds don’t seem to refill the phone as quickly as it should, and the camera system is inconsistent, and not as strong as what you’d find in the more expensive ‘Ultra’ phones. That’s without mentioning the Wi-Fi connectivity issues I experienced during testing. Still, it delivers on the typical Poco benchmarks.

Alternatives at this cost include OPPO's Reno 13 Pro 5G (see review next week!), the Nothing Phone 2 and Apple's iPhone 16e. But seriously, don't buy that. It's arse juice. The Poco F7 Ultra is a powerhouse with that 8 Elite chipset, so gamers will enjoy a smooth frame rate at all times. Battery life is also excellent, even if the capacity isn't a match for the Redmi K80 Pro. With 120W fast charge on board, this phone powers back up in a crazy short time. As for the camera tech, well, the Poco F7 Ultra has made some sacrifices there vs proper 'Ultra' smartphones. The zoom lens isn't as capable, while you can't shoot 4K video with the selfie camera. Still, most people should be happy enough with the Poco F7 Ultra's skills.

The heating issue is there but for the performance that it delivers, I think we will have to make peace with it. To be fair, I have used phones that get far more heated than the POCO F7 but it seems like my expectations with the “All chill. No sweat,” claim of POCO was slightly misplaced.

Ultimately, I’d argue that, given the price difference, especially with early bird pricing of £319, the Poco F7 presents a more compelling purchasing option than the F7 Pro. It’s cheaper, virtually matches the Pro for performance and speed, and has a bigger, longer-lasting battery. If you don’t care too much about camera quality, it’ll give you a great all-round experience. And it’ll cost you less. Considering what the big-name manufacturers charge for their mid-range phones – phones like the Google Pixel 9a, Samsung Galaxy A56 and iPhone 16E – they don’t seem quite as good value for money for anything other than maybe the cameras and software.

Battery capacity has to be chief among them (even if the real-world results currently underwhelm), alongside the 90W fast charge and supplied charger. Then there’s the excellent display that pushes the boundary of what you can expect from a phone at this price point. Finally, there’s the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform itself, which provides you with reliable everyday performance. On the negative side, the camera can’t offer the quality that a bit more cash can get you and others do better for not much more.

The F7 is an existential threat to the Redmi Note 14 Pro+; POCO somehow managed to deliver better performance, much better battery life, a bigger AMOLED panel with brighter colors, and longer software updates. This makes me question why Xiaomi even bothers with the Redmi Note series; sure, it takes better photos, but it is inferior in every other way, and the pricing just doesn't justify what you're getting. If you need a mid-range phone and don't mind average cameras, there really isn't a better choice than the F7 right now.

Look, the Poco F1 was an outlier. Very few phones have come to hold a cult status like that. Even fewer will get there, in the near and distant future, maybe. But that is okay. What matters is, if that legacy lives on, so people who want a phone like that – one that is both fast and furious without breaking the bank – can call upon a certain Poco – or iQOO, or OnePlus, what have you – and be rest assured, they have the option. The POCO F7 should suit most users just fine, offering strong value for money. Sure you don't get the Ultra's telephoto lens, but the camera tech is still decent, while you can once again get gaming on Wuthering Waves. However, unlike the POCO F7 Pro and Ultra, the regular model does get quite toasty with games. Battery life is sublime on all three, and in fact the vanilla phone is better with its upgraded capacity. That said, it's still the POCO F7 Ultra that offers the fastest charging and wireless support. You've got a gorgeous AMOLED screen with HDR10 and Dolby Vision support in all three smartphones, although the more expensive models boast a boost to the resolution.

On the other hand, some corners have been cut to achieve the starting price of $399 ($339 with an early bird deal). There's no wireless charging on board, the ultrawide camera and overall video quality are lacking, and the battery life is unimpressive given the huge battery. At the end of the day, the Poco F7 will have to go against phones such as the Pixel 9a and Galaxy A56, as well as its own kin in the face of the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra. It's cheaper than all of the above and gets the basics right, so if you don't mind the aforementioned cons, you can get a lot out of this guy.

I was using Poco F7 for review for the last ten days, and I can say this is a mind-blowing phone if I skip the heating issue. The camera quality is generally good under different conditions, although the front camera could be improved. One of the main selling points of this phone is its impressive 7,550 mAh battery capacity, making it one of the largest in the Indian market. Additionally, it supports 90W fast charging. During the stress test, its temperature reached 53 degrees Celsius, which is concerning. Overall, there are several phones in the market with the same price, such as the Vivo T4 Ultra, iQOO Neo 10, Motorola Edge 60 Pro, Xiaomi 14 Civi, Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, etc. You can compare the Poco F7 with these phones before buy. This is yet another quality Xiaomi mid-range smartphone boasting some of the best battery life of 2025. Gaming performance is respectable on the POCO F7 although the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 does heat up under a bit of pressure, when playing Wuthering Waves. Likewise, Xiaomi's HyperOS isn't for everyone and features like eSIM support are missing. However, for a budget-friendly mid-range price in the UK, Xiaomi's POCO F7 has a lot going for it. That AMOLED screen is a stunner and the design is an improvement on the Pro and Ultra, I reckon. Just go for the white rather than silver limited edition model if you hate fingerprints. The POCO F7's camera setup is limited, especially vs the Ultra or the Nothing Phone 3a duo. No telephoto zoom, just a basic ultra-wide shooter, that's it. All the same, you'll get good looking photos in most conditions, especially if you take your time and grab a couple of snaps just in case.

Founded in 2010, Xiaomi Corporation is a Chinese multinational electronics company and produces consumer electronics and related products, including smartphones, televisions, fitness bands, power banks, headphones, smart devices and accessories. Xiaomi offers its products under the Mi, Redmi and POCO brands.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Qualcomm Adreno 750: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 25% faster than the Adreno 7340 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and first benchmarks show that the GPU can beat the Apple A17 Pro iGPU. 

Qualcomm Adreno 830: Integrated graphics unit in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC for smartphones with three slices with 1.1 GHz each. Integrated 12 MB shared cache for the three slices. According to Qualcomm, 40% faster than the previous generation (Adreno 750).

Qualcomm Adreno 825: An integrated graphics adapter that debuted in April 2025 alongside the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8:

SD 8 Gen 3: High-end SoC for smartphones that was introduced in late 2022 with a fast prime core based on a ARM Cortex-X3 architecture clocked at up to 3.2 GHz. Two more performance cores are based on the A715 and also support only 64 bit applications. The two additional A710 cores support also 32 bit applications as do the power saving Cortex-A510 cores. In addition to the processor cores, the SoC integrates a WiFi 7 modem, a Hexagon DSP (for AI acceleration) and a Spectra ISP. The integrated memory controller supports fast LPDDR5x memory with up to 4,200 MHz. 5G is included in the chip with the Snapdragon X70 modem.

SD 8 Elite: High-end SoC (System on a Chip) for smartphones which was presented at the end of 2024. It integrates two fast Oryon Gen 2 Prime Cores with up to 4.32 GHz and 6 smaller Oryon Gen 2 Performance Cores with up to 3.53 GHz.

SD 8s Gen 4: A fairly high-performance SoC for use in tablets and smartphones and a successor to the 8s Gen 3. Unveiled in April 2025, it features a single super-fast Cortex-X4 core running at up to 3.2 GHz along with three clusters of slower and more power-efficient Cortex-A720 cores - 7 in total - running at various clock speeds. The Adreno 825 serves as the integrated GPU here.
