Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra and new Redmi 'performance tablet' are tipped to launch soon

Xiaomi's Pad 6 series is long overdue to see an upgrade, and according to Smart Pikachu, the Pad 7 lineup will be launching early next year. The Weibo tipster adds that the company is also working on a Redmi "performance tablet," which could launch in the same time frame.

A recent report from Digital Chat Station suggested that a Redmi gaming tablet is in the works, which is likely the same tab that Smart Pikachu is reporting about. While none of the Weibo tipsters have shed light on the possible specs, the Redmi model is speculated to feature Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, making it offer better performance than the recently launched Pad Pro (base configuration curr. $227.50 on Amazon).

As for the Xiaomi Pad 7 series, Digital Chat Station confirmed the model numbers of two tablets. The leakster also reported that neither of the two devices would hold a better position in the market when compared to the Pad 6S Pro. For reference, the Pad 6S Pro comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which will soon turn into a two-generation-old SoC.

However, Digital Chat Station added that Xiaomi will offer "fully upgraded" models later, and the Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro will possibly be one of them. Another thing to note is that the company didn't offer a tablet with an "Ultra" moniker in the past. So, per Smart Pikachu's report, it's likely that the upcoming non-S series will have three tablets.

Among them, the upper-tier model could come with the next-gen Snapdragon SoC, which is now rumored to be called the Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition. But again, all of these are based on leaks and speculations, so you should take these pieces of information with a pinch of salt.
