The Xiaomi Pad 7 not only offers powerful features at an attractive price but also makes for a complete package for school or university with the optional stylus and keyboard cover. In particular, the bright and fast screen shows the competition, such as the likes of the iPad 11 or iPad Air 11, the limits.

Okay, let me wrap up this review of the Xiaomi Pad 7 now. And based on everything I’ve talked about, it’s clear that this is a fantastic midrange tablet that gets a lot of things right. A fantastic midrange tablet that checks a lot of boxes… whatever you wanna say. I’m still kinda bummed that we didn’t get an OLED display this year as previously rumored but Xiaomi’s latest midrange tablet hits just right. And if you’re looking to spend like NPR 50,000 rupees on a brand-new tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 7 is easily the best option in Nepal. The thing is, this segment doesn’t even have much competition to begin with. There’s the 11th Gen iPad (review) and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 FE (review) if you’re willing to extend your budget by 40 – 80%.

If you’re looking for an excellent value Android tablet then, yes, the Pad 7 perfectly fits the bill. It really is a flagship-level tablet in so many ways and there’s good chance that if you buy it from the official store, you’ll get it cheaper with things thrown in for free and optional discounts on accessories. Sure, there are other good options out there and if you want the convenience of the cheapest iPad’s software and app selection you won’t be disappointed by going down that route. Android rivals have advantages too like optional 5G if that’s important or the Google Pixel’s speaker dock. But if you’re looking for a well-made, high-spec tablet without breaking the bank then the Pad 7 is the top option.

If you're looking for something more than a Netflix box, this will do. It's very capable as a writing/surfing/content consumption tablet, but I wouldn't go so far as to call this a gaming or video editing tablet. It's just not built for that. But for $450, it doesn't have to be. Most of the time, when you're looking for a tablet, it'll fall into the productivity category, or the consumption category. This is somewhere in between. If you pick this tablet up for movie watching, it will fulfill that purpose quite well, but maybe a Fire tablet (even an older model) could be a better budget choice. If you really want to get things done, this will do that job, but maybe the (significantly more expensive) Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ is a better choice.

The software is always my biggest bug-bear with Xiaomi products and the main reason that I so rarely rate any of them above four stars. To be clear though, it’s not unusable by any stretch. If you want a cheap Android tablet that rivals the entry-level iPad, it’s still worth getting the Xiaomi Pad 7. The software is frustrating in places but you’ll soon get used to it. And everything else about the Xiaomi Pad 7 more than makes up for those teething problems. The performance is speedy enough to rival tablets that cost over £100 more, the display is sharp, bright and colour-accurate, battery life is some of the best around and the aluminium build is both sleek and sturdy. For this bargain price, you won’t find better than the Xiaomi Pad 7.

After a lengthy review, we have arrived at a rather brief conclusion: With the Xiaomi Pad 7, you end up with an amazingly good Android tablet. Its qualities do not necessarily lie in a thick bunch of specifications. Rather, it is the excellent accessories and the customized operating system that make the tablet a good everyday companion. The display also proved to be impressive, offering great image quality despite using LCD technology and the lack of a matte coating option. The precise pen input is in no way inferior to competitors such as Apple and Samsung. In terms of performance, the integrated Snapdragon SoC was impressive in both everyday use and gaming. However, it is regrettable that there is only a maximum capacity of 256 GB of storage space.

Yes, Xiaomi's tablet looks more like an iPad than ever, especially with Xiaomi's new "Focus Keyboard" that is built exactly like Apple's Magic Keyboard. But if you can get over the lack of originality, this is a tremendous Android tablet that is excellent at work and play at a much lower price than Apple's tablet. The Xiaomi Pad 7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and has a 144Hz refresh rate screen with thin bezels. The new Focus Keyboard is excellent, and props up the tablet off the table by an inch or two.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 proves itself as a remarkable tablet because of its budget-friendly nature following my extensive use period. Performance along with display quality and battery performance are outstanding features of this tablet. The device works well for users who need it to handle both work-related activities and gaming tasks. The tablet delivers excellent worth while falling short of flagship tablet luxury experiences. Xiaomi Pad 7 operates well as a budget-friendly tablet because it combines exceptional sound output with high-quality display and adequate battery life. The device provides functionality for students and professionals and other users who seek entertainment purposes between different device usages.

Priced at Rs 27,999 onwards, the Xiaomi Pad 7 ticks all the boxes for being a portable workstation. With a premium build, an appealing display, powerful performance, and a suitable set of software features, the tablet is a good option for students and working professionals looking for a portable device that can serve multiple purposes. However, the absence of a microSD card slot and cellular connectivity may limit its appeal for some users.

It does bring a lot to the tablet table, but unlike its predecessors, the ‘regular’ Xiaomi Pad 7 is not a “no-brainer,” thanks to the very high-profile competition hovering around it. It is, nevertheless, one of the best options for those who want a good Android tablet that can do it all – tab, sketch, type, notebook – without paying too steep a price. Go with a Bluetooth keyboard or the basic keyboard cover (the Focus Keyboard is more cool than useful and is a financial and physical burden) and the Focus Pen, and you have a very good tablet that can also double up as a decent notebook at a price in the region of Rs 40,000. And that is pretty good value for money by any standard.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 is a well-made and capable Android tablet. The software experience is well-sorted and using the device for productivity tasks is quite a pleasant experience. The device is also quite decent at media playback, although we would have liked to see an OLED display for a proper HDR experience. Combined with the company's keyboard accessory, the Xiaomi Pad 7 is a potent productivity machine. If you're primarily looking for something to work on documents or office files or for school work then you might be better off picking up one of these over a cheap laptop.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 ticks almost all the right boxes. The tablet has a gorgeous display with Dolby Vision and quad speakers with Dolby Atmos for entertainment lovers. It offers snappy performance and multitasking features for users looking to be productive or playing games on the go. It does miss out on a few things like an OLED panel, a fingerprint scanner, and cellular connectivity, but those are not exactly deal breakers barring the last one. The Xiaomi Pad 7 is a tablet that offers the maximum value for its asking price, even if you include accessories like a stylus and keyboard. It is truly a worthy iPad opponent and a better choice for many buyers.

Drawing up the competitive landscape for a tablet is a tad bit tricky I feel. I say that because unlike smartphones, pure performance or raw specs can’t really be the primary deciding factors while buying a tablet… considering that the main use cases for a slate are streaming, reading, drawing and regular productivity-based tasks. Unless you’re a power user or your main use case of buying a tablet is gaming. And thanks to their beefy batteries, most tablets are able to deliver respectable battery life too. In my opinion, the most important factors to consider while choosing a tablet are aspects like screen quality, audio, the software experience, ecosystem features, and accessories (such as the keyboard and pen).

Absolutely. If you’re looking for a good Android tablet under Rs 30,000, or a tablet with a matte display — similar to the iPad Pro —under Rs 35,000, the new Xiaomi Pad 7 is a compelling option. The Pad 7 is powerful and can easily handle your entertainment needs, including hours of binge-watching, casual gaming, and more. It’s lightweight, easy to carry around, and even convenient for casual video or office calls. The Xiaomi Pad 7 delivers a seamless performance experience, standing out as a reliable tablet for productivity, gaming, and multimedia consumption. The anti-reflective Nano-texture display is surprisingly promising, in addition to its ultra-slim 6.18mm solid metallic design and remarkable quad-speaker sound experience. It delivers a well-rounded performance, combining a powerful chipset, ample RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage for smooth multitasking and gaming. Moreover, the HyperOS 2.0 (Android 15) with AI-powered productivity tools, long-lasting battery life, and support for Focus Pen support and Focus Keyboard, further elevates the experience.

In many areas, Xiaomi's Pad 7 Pro is better than an iPad Air 2024 but costs less than half the price. In particular, the Xiaomi Tab's 3K display is unrivaled in this price range. However, compared to the Xiaomi Pad 7, there is probably a catch with the Pro version.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro is a powerful tablet with plenty of tablet-oriented features and optional accessories. Its 256GB version costs €399, which is a great starting price for a flagship-grade device. We can also recommend getting the bundle of the 12/512GB model with the Pro Focus keyboard for €550 as this is a nice deal as well. We liked the Pad 7 Pro screen even if it's not an OLED and even if we never saw the advertised 144Hz refresh rate in action. The panel has a high resolution, smooth animations and is quite bright. Dolby Vision and HDR10 content are supported and we enjoyed watching clips and movies in HDR.Android 15 with HyperOS 2 is a potentially capable combination that offers plenty of features and AI options to get you started.

If you can count on Chinese tech brand Xiaomi to do one thing in its gadgets, it’s to load them up with top-end spec and then sell them for a relatively competitive price, and that’s exactly what it’s done with the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro. This new mid-range slate is a relative rarity given Xiaomi’s focus on low-end tablets over mid-range ones (it doesn’t sell top-end ones to match the price of the iPad Pro or Samsung Galaxy Tab S10). It follows the Pad 6 which was released in the west in 2023, and it comes amidst many other Android tab rivals all vying for a spot in our list of the best tablets, including the recent Honor Pad V9 and Oppo Pad 3 Pro. It’s this latter that competes closely with the Xiaomi, in terms of specs and price – more on that later.

Is there an iPad of the Android world? You could debate that for hours, about if there were an iPad of Android, it might well be the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro. Why? Well, Xiaomi is unashamedly copying Apple when it comes to the design of the tablet itself, software elements, and the accessories that it offers for the tablet. But while the copying is blatant, it’s perhaps not a bad thing. Apple’s Magic Keyboard is an excellent accessory for the iPad, and the industrial design of the iPad is beloved. That’s not to mention the fact that the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro is inexpensive, at least compared to the higher-end iPad models.

Wrapping this up, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro impresses with its flagship-level performance, premium design, and productivity-focused features. These key selling points surely make it a compelling choice for users who demand more from their tablet. Its Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset delivers powerful performance for both gaming and multitasking, while the sharp 144Hz display and quad-speaker setup enhance the overall multimedia experience. On its lonesome, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro delivers plenty for the money. Performance is convincing, battery life is superb, and the display packs in more pixels than virtually anything else at this price point. Xiaomi’s tablet-specific tweaks to Android are well thought out, and the way it slots into the firm’s wider ecosystem is practically seamless. Accessories are what makes a tablet more than just an oversized smartphone, and Xiaomi has duly delivered here. The Focus Keyboard in particular is a delight to type on and turns the Pad 7 Pro into a portable productivity powerhouse. That does bump the price, of course, and if you shop around you’ll find rivals often bundle their keyboards for similar money. By itself, the lack of OLED tech might be a downer for streaming aficionados. Creators with specific software use cases might also find Android’s app selection more modest than Apple’s iPad OS, but they’ll need to pay considerably more than this in order to get them.
