Xiaomi POCO X7 rumoured to receive global release with cameras from new Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G
Xiaomi has not said anything publicly yet about releasing a new POCO-branded smartphone. However, Xiaomi Time claims to have discovered details about the forthcoming POCO X7, which appears set to replace the POCO X6 5G at some stage. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when the POCO X7 will be officially introduced at this stage.
Nonetheless, Xiaomi Time suggests that evidence of the new POCO smartphone can already be found in Xiaomi's codebase. Specifically, the website asserts that the POCO X7 will sport a 50 MP primary camera, which should be the Sony LYT-600 (50 MP) aided by optical image stabilisation (OIS). Moreover, the device is believed to utilise the OmniVision OV20B (20 MP), OmniVision OV02B10 (2 MP) and Sony IMX355 (8 MP) as its front-facing, macro and ultra-wide-angle cameras, respectively.
In other words, the POCO X7 will feature the same cameras found in the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 14 Pro. Incidentally, the latter's global variant is rumoured to retain the 200 MP camera from last year's Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G (curr. $278.70 on Amazon). If the Chinese Redmi Note 14 Pro is anything go by, then the POCO X7 should contain the following other hardware when Xiaomi eventually releases it globally:
- 6.67-inch 1.5K curved OLED display (120 Hz refresh rate, 1,200 nits HBM brightness)
- MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset
- LPDDR4x RAM/UFS 2.2 flash storage
- 5,500 mAh battery (45 W charging)
