Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus becomes unofficially available outside China
The Redmi Note 14 series launched in China on September 26, and Xiaomi has yet to share details about the global release. While the new smartphones are expected to land outside the Chinese market officially, the international variants may not be completely identical.
As we covered, the global Redmi Note 14 Pro models could have different camera setups than the Chinese variants. One of the possible changes is the lack of a telephoto sensor on the Pro Plus, which will reduce the versatility of the camera system.
The good part is that the Chinese Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus is already available to import from Giztop. While this would let you get the new mid-range phone early, there are some drawbacks you need to consider. First of all, the phone will ship with Chinese firmware, which may not offer the same experience as the global version.
Of course, it's possible to flash the global firmware once it becomes available. However, that's an extra step, and there's no guarantee that a global ROM will be available for the Chinese Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus. On the bright side, Giztop says there's support for English, and the smartphone will come with Google Mobile Services and Google Play.
Secondly, the Chinese Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus supports some specific 4G and 5G bands, and the ones that work in your region may not be compatible. Lastly, while Giztop has a decent warranty policy, claiming it would require you to send the phone back to them.
Other than that, the pricing of the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus on Giztop isn't bad. The base configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is currently $319, which is about $48 higher than what the smartphone goes for in China.
