Xiaomi POCO C40 announced with a JLQ JR510 chipset and a 6,000 mAh battery in three colour options
Xiaomi Vietnam has announced the POCO C40, another budget smartphone by the company. While the POCO C40 resembles many other POCO smartphones, in part thanks to its POCO Yellow colour option, it contains an unusual chipset. Specifically, Xiaomi has equipped the POCO C40 with the JLQ JR510, an 11 nm chipset from JLQ Technology.
Founded in 2018, the Shanghai-based chipset manufacturer currently has approximately 500 employees, making it significantly smaller than its competitors. For some reason, JLQ Technology has not confirmed what cores power the JR510, although its twin quad-core CPU clusters should help it rival the MediaTek Helio G35 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 450.
Elsewhere, the POCO C40 has a 6.71-inch IPS display operating at 720p (HD+) and up to 400 nits. Additionally, the POCO C40 has a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 18 W fast charging, plus a 13 MP main camera, a 2 MP secondary sensor and a 5 MP front-facing camera. As it stands, the POCO C40 has only been announced in Vietnam, where it retails for VND 3,490,000 (~US$150) with 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. The POCO C40 will begin shipping on June 17 and is available in three colour options.
