Xiaomi has now confirmed that it will be hosting a mammoth launch event later this week, hot on the heels of Vivo releasing the X Fold5 in China. As we have discussed separately, Xiaomi has earmarked June 26 to unveil not just the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition and the Redmi K Pad but also the Pad 7S Pro 12.5 and the Mix Flip 2.
While Xiaomi is a few days away from officially presenting the Mix Flip 2, the device already appears to have leaked on Geekbench. As always, the benchmarking platform refers to the unreleased device by its '2505APX7BC' model number rather than its retail name. Nonetheless, this model number has previously been linked to the Mix Flip 2.
According to Geekbench, the Mix Flip 2 leverages Qualcomm's regular Snapdragon 8 Elite with 12 GB of RAM rather than the Leading Version edition that will underpin the Honor Magic V5. Although the former provides slightly weaker performance than the latter, it is the full eight-core version rather than the seven-core equivalent found in the Oppo Find N5.
Unsurprisingly, the Mix Flip 2 outperforms the Oppo Find N5 in multi-core work, albeit only by 3.7%. Meanwhile, Xiaomi's next clamshell outscores the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra (curr. $899.99 on Amazon) by closer to 10% in the same benchmark despite featuring the same 8-core chipset. Conversely, the Mix Flip 2 falls short of both devices in Geekbench's single-core benchmark.
