The launch of the X Fold5 is on the horizon as a long-awaited successor of sorts to the X Fold3 and X Fold3 Pro. This is only true in China though, where the foldable will debut on June 25. For the time being, there is no evidence to suggest that Vivo has developed an X Fold5, too.
According to new rumours, Vivo will not be hanging around when it comes to releasing its latest foldable internationally. For context, the company took about three months to introduce the X Fold3 series outside China. Even then, only the more expensive X Fold3 Pro was ever available internationally.
Supposedly, the X Fold5 will land in India during the second week of July. However, 91mobiles adds that the device's actual release date will fall between July 10 and July 15. Either way, the timing of these dates will see the X Fold5 reaching India mere days after Samsung introduces a follow-up to the Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $947 on Amazon).
Likewise, the X Fold5 should arrive in India before Honor has a chance to offer the Magic V5 beyond China too. Currently, the X Fold5 is expected to launch as the world's lightest book-style foldable with upgraded cameras, batteries and displays compared to last year's X Fold3 series. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will return rather than the Snapdragon 8 Elite though, which should help keep costs down relative to other Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered foldables.
