The Vivo X Fold5 will be the first foldable with a configurable side button. While Vivo will beat OnePlus and Oppo in this regard, it will do so by heavily relying on Apple's Action Button UI.

Vivo executive Han Bo Xiao has published a new video highlighting the X Fold5 once again. Arriving on June 25, the X Fold5 will be quickly usurped by the Magic V5 that Honor will unleash just a week later. Apparently, Samsung is rumoured to have settled on July 9 as the day when it replaces the Galaxy Z Fold6 too (curr. $985 - refurbished on Amazon).

While the X Fold5 will land in less than a week's time, Han Bo Xiao continues to tease new details about the device on Weibo. This time, the executive has returned to the X Fold5's configurable side button, the existence of which Vivo confirmed earlier this week. At the time, Vivo somewhat obscured how one could configure this button.

By contrast, Han Bo Xiao's latest video reveals that Vivo has created a copycat of Apple's Action Button UI. However, Vivo will offer single and double-click customisation options, unlike Apple. Incidentally, the adoption of a configurable side button coincides with Vivo integrating Apple Watch, AirPods and iCloud functionality within OriginOS. Please see our earlier article for more details of these functions in action.
