Xiaomi Mijia Solar Panel 100 W arrives as foldable device with MWT technology
The Xiaomi Mijia Solar Panel 100 W is now available to pre-order in China. The gadget has been designed to work with the new Mijia Outdoor Power Supply 1000 Pro; you can power the device at up to 200 W using a pair of these new solar panels, though the full charging time is not known.
The gadget has a high energy conversion rate thanks to Metal Wrap Through (MWT) technology. Alongside the MWT back-contact battery, the panel has layers of EVA, insulation and a glass front panel. The portable solar panel is foldable, measuring around the same size as a sheet of A2 paper when collapsed, and weighing 3.1 kg (~6.8 lbs). Plus, the Mijia device is rated as IP65 waterproof and dustproof, protecting it against the elements, with a storage pouch on the back for your charging cables.
You can currently pre-order the Xiaomi Mijia Solar Panel 100 W in China with a 100 yuan (~US$14) deposit for 1,099 yuan (~US$158). The pre-sale is available via Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Youpin and JD.com. The gadget is scheduled to ship on September 16 and is expected to retail for 1,299 yuan (~US$187) in the future. It is unclear whether or when Xiaomi could launch the product in other markets.
