Also sold as the Mi 8 Youth or the Mi 8X, the Mi 8 Lite has only received one OS upgrade so far. While there are already custom ROMs that can bring Android 10 to the device, Xiaomi has now posted an official Android 10 update for the device.

Likely to be its final OS upgrade, the Mi 8 Lite can now be updated to Android 10. Currently restricted to the China Stable branch of MIUI, V11.0.1.0.QDTCNXM is the first taste of Android 10 for the Mi 8 Lite.

Referred to as the Mi 8 Youth or the Mi 8X in some markets, the Mi 8 Lite will likely receive Android 10 globally within the next month or so. Please keep in mind that while Xiaomi downgraded the Mi 8 Lite from V11.0.4.0 to V11.0.1.0 for the Android 10 upgrade, it may not do the same on other branches of MIUI 11.

If you have already enrolled your device on the China Stable branch of MIUI, then you should have received an OTA notification to download V11.0.1.0.QDTCNXM. Alternatively, you can download V11.0.1.0.QDTCNXM from Xiaomi's servers if you would like to install it manually. If you want to install the update on your another regional variant of the Mi 8 Lite, then you must unlock your device's bootloader.
