The Mi 10 series is on its way, even if it may only arrive digitally this month. Already confirmed by Xiaomi to feature a Snapdragon 865, and by extension 5G capabilities, there has been talk about the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro featuring a 108 MP camera of sorts. Apparent hands-on images released a few weeks ago show the latter sporting up to four rear-facing cameras.
Ahead of its expected release later this month, Xiaomi VP Lu Weibing has been showing off the camera and videography capabilities of an unnamed smartphone on Weibo. However, some canny folk have spotted that he has been posting from a Mi 10 Pro, making it possible that these camera samples are from Xiaomi's upcoming flagship.
The samples show a still from what looks like the main rear-facing camera, along with a short video clip and a zoomed-in shot. As GSMArena notes, there is no data within the image files to indicate what sensors are being used, but @xiaomishka asserts that the latter is from a 10x zoom camera. A caveat here is that the samples have been compressed upon being uploaded to Weibo, so the original files will likely look better than these.
This could well be 10x digital zoom and 5x optical zoom, but the results are still impressive from what will likely be a sub-US$500 smartphone. The Mi 10 series is expected to arrive on February 13 or February 14.
Guys, what do you think about this video shot on new #Xiaomi phone? Good stabilization compared to Mi 9????? pic.twitter.com/tiPywzTTK6
