E3 2019 | Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offers over 100 console and PC games including Xbox Live Gold for just US$15 a month
Microsoft put up a great show at E3 2019 that included previews of close to 60 games, reveal of the next-gen Xbox Project Scarlett, Project xCloud, and the Elite Series 2 controller not to mention the appearance of Keanu Reeves on stage for the reveal of Cyberpunk 2077 starring him. Much to the delight of fans, Microsoft also announced the Xbox Game Pass for PC and Game Pass Ultimate for just US$10 and US$15 a month respectively.
Microsoft is pricing the PC-only game pass for US$5 a month (during the beta period, US$10 after that; first month at US$1) with plans to offer more than 100 PC games by August this year. Game Pass PC is for those who do not play Xbox console games and Microsoft said that the catalog for Game Pass PC will be curated separately in collaboration with the PC community. Xbox Game Pass for PC will bring previously Xbox One-exclusive titles such as Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, Forza Horizon 4, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection along with upcoming titles such as Gears 5 and Ori and the Will of the Wisps for PC gamers.
Earlier available only to Xbox Insiders, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate now offers a combined subscription for Xbox One games and Xbox Live Gold with a Game Pass for PC being thrown in for free at just US$15, with the first month pricing at just US$1. Here's a summary of the different subscription plans on the offing —
- Xbox Game Pass for PC — US$9.99 per month for more than 100 PC games.
- Xbox Game Pass Console Games — US$9.99 per month for more than 100 console games.
- Xbox Live Gold — US$9.99 per month for multiplayer.
- Xbox Game Pass Ultimate — US$14.99 per month that includes all the above three.
