With the Wio Terminal, Seeedstudio has created a particularly inexpensive single-board computer that is Arduino, MicroPython and Raspberry Pi-compatible. The Wio Terminal comes with a dedicated display, Bluetooth 5.0 LE and 5G Wi-Fi among other components.

The Wio Terminal is a single-board computer (SBC) that Seeedstudio has equipped with a dedicated 2.4-inch display. Based around an ATSAMD51 microcontroller that can clock up to 200 MHz, the Wio Terminal also has a Realtek RTL8720DN chip for Bluetooth 5.0 LE and up to IEEE 802.11 n Wi-Fi.

The SBC also integrates 4 MB of storage and 192 KB of RAM, along with a buzzer, light sensor and an IR emitter. There is a microSD card slot and an onboard IMU.

Seeedstudio claims that the Wio Terminal is compatible with the Raspberry Pi ecosystem, meaning that HATs can be connected via an appropriate adapter cable. The Terminal can also be used as a slave device for a Raspberry Pi. Additionally, the Terminal supports USB OTG for connecting peripherals like or keyboards or mice.

Actuators and sensors can also be connected via the device's two Grove ports. Aside from SPI and I2S, the Terminal also supports ADC. Moreover, Seeedstudio claims that it is compatible with Arduino, ArduPy, AT firmware and MicroPython.

The Wio Terminal can be ordered now for US$29.90, with Seeedstudio claiming that orders will ship on April 15. The company is also offering a complimentary Wio Link with all pre-orders. You must apply coupon code FREEWIO at the checkout when placing your order for the Wio Terminal. Additionally, the Wio Terminal product page states that Seeedstudio has created a US$9.90 Battery Chassis for the device, which incorporates a 650 mAh battery and 6 Grove interfaces.
