We used one of the best Android tablets as a notebook replacement in 2026
In our full review of the Honor MagicPad 4 we found no major points of criticism. This is very remarkable for mid-range price tag and a bold move to the iPad Air 13 from Apple. And even the Pro model is within reach of the Honor tablet thanks to the MagicPad 4's great OLED panel and super-thin bezels at half the price tag. The RRP of the MagicPad 4 starts at around $750 as a complete package with pen and keyboard cover. However, it is not officially sold in the US.
However, we have also found a gap in the feature set for the price tag from the Honor tablet, which prospective buyers of the OLED tablet should consider before making a purchase.
Android-Tablet with PC mode similar to Samsung's Galaxy tablets
We consider the PC mode of the MagicOS 10 interface very well designed. Similar to Samsung tablets with the Dex interface, the MagicPad 4 can be operated more extensively with the Multi-Windows interface. Linke Windows from microsoft, windows can be minimized and resized. There is also a preselection of windows for up to four apps in PC mode.
If you have good eyesight, you can easily use four apps in parallel use on the 12.3-inch OLED screen. Thanks to Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 we did not notice any performance deficits in multitasking either. However, we did not test video editing or similar power-intensive tasks.
Affordable OLED tablet with inexpensive accessories for work or university
For our review we get the MagicPad 4 with the Smart Touch Keyboard from Honor. We like the quality of the cover, even if the plastic materials do not give it a premium feel. Key travel is okay and the keyboard is easy to type on. The touchpad, however, is not really precise to use. Anyone coming from a Magic Keyboard with its glass trackpad and Haptic Engine will not be happy with the cover form Honor. Due to the very good Magic Pencil 3 and the 165 Hz OLED screen, the touchpad on the keyboard cover is largely obsolete anyway.
A big advantage of the combination of keyboard case and tablet is the low weight. We measured just 835 grams without the stylus. With the Magic Pencil 3, it should be 852 grams. This means for daily use, this laptop replacement is hardly noticeable in a bag.
