"We hurt AMD's feelings": Not even Gamers Nexus got Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 as AMD keeps review samples from many in media

Initial reviews of the new AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 are here. But this time, AMD has done something unusual compared to their normal cycle of seeding review samples to the press well before release. Reviews of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 have been limited, to say the least. The reason seems to be the lack of CPU samples that AMD sends to the media.
The situation is reportedly bad enough that even some of the biggest tech reviewers and publications on the planet didn't get a Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 review sample. TechPowerUp, for instance, didn’t receive a Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 to review. AMD reportedly denied them when asked, claiming that “no samples were available for TechPowerUp”.
In addition to TechPowerUp, German publication ComputerBase also didn’t get a Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 sample. Both TechPowerUp and ComputerBase are known for their highly detailed testing. So, it is quite disappointing to see AMD omit these publications from their reviewer’s list.
Gamers Nexus also didn’t get the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 sample
What might come as a surprise to many is that Gamers Nexus, one of the most influential tech reviewers out there, also didn’t get a Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 review sample. This becomes more puzzling when we consider that Hardware Unboxed did get a review sample. So, AMD did indeed send out samples to some tech YouTubers.
Gamers Nexus apparently didn’t like being excluded. The outlet has published a detailed video titled “Blacklisted by AMD”, criticizing AMD and claiming that Team Red has offloaded the communication with GN to a third-party PR agency. GN explains that before this, they had direct access to internal communications with AMD for years.

GN also reports that, in addition to not receiving any Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 review sample, the media channel also didn’t get any pre-release information about the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, which is the norm in the industry for big publishers and media houses. The full video is linked below, and it's definitely worth checking out.
All in all, it seems AMD could’ve handled the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 review sampling situation better, as it has become sort of a controversy. Our review is still on the way. So, stay tuned.
