Maingear revamps its MG-1 offering with AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, custom artwork and more

Maingear, one of the most well-known system builders in North America, is stepping things up a notch just in time for AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 CPU, making an upgrade more enticing for gamers already on the fence for a brand new gaming PC or a much-needed upgrade.
The next generation MG-1 gaming PC offers plenty of upgrades under the hood even as it allows users build with both Intel and AMD CPUs while also offering configurations including the top-end AMD and Nvidia GPUs. Users can also configure up to 128GB of RAM (via Kingston) or add up to 6 M. 2 NVMe SSD drives, making the MG-1 a great gaming or AI-centric PC.
Maingear has dubbed the MG-1 as "The best gaming PC Maingear has ever built, now with the best gaming CPU AMD has ever made". While the jury may be out on the latter part of the statement, one can see that the New Jersey-based assembler has gone above and beyond to cater to its audience, especially when it comes to customization based on their needs.
The MG-1 MKII comes with the following specifications:
- CPU: Up to AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition or Intel Core Ultra 9 285K
- GPU: Up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 or AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
- Memory: Up to 128GB DDR5 6000MHz
- Storage: Up to 6x M.2 NVMe SSDs
- Connectivity: Up to 10Gb LAN, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4
- Front I/O: 1x USB-A 5Gbps, 1x USB-C 20Gbps, 3.5mm combo jack
- Dimensions: 475mm (W) x 498mm (D) x 230mm (H) / 18.70" x 19.60" x 9.05"

Maingear's CEO and co-founder, Wallace Santos, stated:
"The MG-1 set an extremely high bar. We knew refining it wouldn’t be easy, but we’re proud to say we’ve taken it further in every measurable way with the all-new MG-1. We went through everything from the top down, airflow, thermals, build quality, materials, and made real, measurable improvements across the board. Every upgrade reflects our pursuit of the ultimate gaming experience. Space has been optimized. The magnets are stronger. The air intake is larger. The RGB is brighter. The panels are thicker. The frames per second are higher. At the end of the day, this is the kind of system we’d want on our own desks, and I think it's going to raise the bar once again."
The MG-1 also comes with a BYO (Bring Your Own) RAM program to help users mitigate upgrade costs by sourcing cheaper or repurposing older memory sticks to bring down costs even as Maingear offers to stress test it with their gaming PC while offering warranty passthrough to qualifying consumers.
With a bloatware-free Windows image and driver upgrades also on offer, Maingear's MG-1 might be the simplest way to hit the ground running when it comes to a gaming PC in 2026. Users also have an option to extend the one-year warranty to three years for peace of mind, even as the brand offers a zero-interest buy-now-pay-later checkout option for those wary of renting a gaming PC for now.
