Deal | Walmart's most affordable Motile Ryzen laptop is now even cheaper at just $210
When we had checked out the Ryzen 5 version of the Walmart Motile 14 late last year, we didn't have very high expectations. After all, this is a Walmart-branded laptop costing several hundreds of dollars less than more well-known alternatives from Lenovo, Dell, or HP. To our surprise, however, it's actually better than average in terms of color accuracy, performance, and design especially for its price category.
The latest Walmart deal is for the lowest configuration of the Motile 14 with a Ryzen 3 3200U CPU, 4 GB of RAM, and 128 GB SSD in contrast to the Ryzen 5 3500U CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB SSD of the costlier configuration. Fortunately, users can easily upgrade the RAM or storage as needed or even add a second SSD as we've discovered in our full review of the Motile 14.
The main drawback to the deal is processor performance as the dual-core Ryzen 3 3200U is approximately 20 and 70 percent slower than the quad-core Ryzen 5 3500U in single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads, respectively. It'll still be fast enough for day-to-day browsing, video streaming, and emailing, but its multi-tasking capabilities will be limited. If you're in the market for a backup laptop or something inexpensive and temporary to hold you over, then the Walmart Motile is worth considering.
