Vuzix is now selling its Z100 Smart Glasses directly to consumers in countries globally. A developer edition of the wearable was announced in January, and the glasses were marketed to enterprise customers as a way to provide their employees with AI to enhance their workflow.
The Z100 Smart Glasses are available with clear or tinted lenses and are prescription-ready. The wearable offers a transparent waveguide display, allowing you to view information like progress towards fitness goals, your running pace, turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps (Android only) and notifications. Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, you can wirelessly pair the glasses to various iOS and Android smartphones. You can use the Vuzix Connect app to configure the gadget and access other features like text translation. Plus, the wearable can run for up to 48 hours between charges, and the company describes the glasses as comfortable and ultra-lightweight, weighing 38g (~0.06 lbs).
It is worth noting that the glasses do not appear to feature a built-in camera or an AI assistant. You can now buy the clear and tinted versions of the Vuzix Smart Glasses for $499.99/£410.00/€485.00. For context, the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses retail for $329, though they are currently available for $264.20 at Amazon, due to a Black Friday deal.
