Volvo EX60 hits the road: new electric SUV offers up to 810 km of range and 680 hp

The fully electric Volvo EX60 is now officially being delivered to European customers. In Sweden, the brand’s home market, the first units of the premium mid-size electric SUV are already hitting the roads, offering a model-dependent electric range of up to 810 kilometers. In the coming weeks, Volvo plans to gradually introduce the EX60 to customers in additional European markets.
In terms of pricing, Volvo is positioning the electric vehicle at a similar level to its own best-selling XC60 with plug-in hybrid powertrain, making the switch to a fully electric drive more attractive. At launch, buyers can choose between three power versions:
The range-topping model is the Volvo EX60 P12 AWD electric with all-wheel drive, delivering a powerful 500 kW (680 hp) and achieving a maximum WLTP range of up to 810 kilometers. Below this sits the Volvo EX60 P10 AWD electric with 375 kW (510 hp) and a range of up to 660 kilometers. The entry-level model is the rear-wheel-drive Volvo EX60 P6 electric with 275 kW (374 hp), which still offers a range of up to 611 kilometers.

Volvo quotes impressive figures for fast charging the EX60: At suitable 400 kW fast-charging stations, the battery can reportedly be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 16 minutes. A short 10-minute charging stop can add enough energy for up to 340 additional kilometers of driving range. According to the automaker, the EX60 marks the beginning of a new technological era for Volvo.
It is the first electric model based on the newly developed SPA3 electric vehicle architecture, with Volvo using megacasting manufacturing processes, an integrated cell-to-body battery design, and a powerful core computing platform for the first time. The five-seat SUV is developed and produced entirely in Sweden. The Volvo EX60 can now be ordered in Europe and the United States.
