European customers can now order Volkswagen’s e-Transporter DoKa. The electric pickup truck is based on Ford’s E-Transit van chassis.
The flatbed DoKa is a significant departure from the more aesthetic ID.Buzz. However, the DoKa is a proper workhorse for transporting both crew and tools, courtesy of a well-proportioned bed.
Volkswagen’s DoKa has a wheelbase of 3,500 mm (138 inches) and a vehicle length of 5,613 mm (221 inches). It has a generous cargo bed, thanks to the shorter hood, with a payload capacity of up to 785 kg (1,730 lbs). Towing capacity is decent for many working scenarios, at 2,000 kg.
Inside the cabin, the electric DoKa can accommodate up to six adults simultaneously.
In terms of performance, the DoKa powertrain generates up to 210 kW (280 hp)/415 Nm (306 lb-ft). While there is no official confirmation, the truck likely uses the same 64 kWh battery pack as the Ford E-Transit van. Customers can expect up to 280 km (175 miles) of range between charges based on WLTP estimates and charging times of approximately 30 minutes from 10 to 80 percent with DC fast chargers.
The Volkswagen DoKa is available to order starting at €52,208 (about $60,500) before VAT and customization.
