Vivo unveils Z1x premium mid-range handheld
Vivo’s Z1 handheld lineup will soon be joined by a new premium mid-range known as the Z1x. This model will initially launch in India, but will become available worldwide after a few months.
Some of the specs from the Z1 Pro like the Snapdragon 712 SoC, the 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB storage were kept on the Z1x, but the new model also introduces premium features that are usually found on flagship smartphones. Instead of an IPS screen, the Z1x now comes with a 6.38-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display that has a small teardrop notch for the 32 MP selfie cam. Additionally, the display comes with an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The rear triple-cam setup has also been upgraded with a 48 MP main shooter, an 8 MP super-wide-angle sensor and the usual 2 MP depth cam for Bokeh effects. Some of the AI-powered features integrated with the improved sensors include HDR filters, slow motion and Super Night Mode.
It runs Android 9.0 out-of-the-box and comes with special Multi-Turbo accelerator software that boosts Internet speeds, AI functions and GPU frequencies. Since the screen is slightly smaller and uses power-saving AMOLEDs, the battery was downgraded from 5,000 mAh to 4,500 mAh, yet it still features Vivo’s 22.5 W FlashCharge technology. Users can choose between the Fusion Blue and Phantom purple gradient color options.
The new Z1x will be available starting September 13 from Flipkart and Vivo’s official site, with the 64 GB model going for ~US$240 and the 128 GB one costing ~$US$270.
