Reviews for the Vivo iQOO 7

The iQoo 7 is another impressively potent, keenly priced phone from the Vivo-affiliated brand. It lives up to its billing as a gaming-ready phone without resorting to cheap tricks or tacky RGB lighting. Not that this is a phone for serious gamers. There are no dedicated physical controls, and while the phone’s battery life is decent in general terms, it won’t stand up to a lengthy gaming session. Think of it more as a gaming-adjacent phone. With a competent camera and a pleasingly slick (if unspectacular) design, it’s up there with the best mid-range phones to live with. We only hope that the iQoo brand takes the plunge and commits to rolling out its phones in more territories in the near future, because there’s a lot to like here.

There’s a lot to like about the iQoo 7 5G. Firstly, it’s an attractive device that’s nice to use. The 120Hz display is lush and smooth, while the Funtouch OS does take a little sorting out at first, but then delivers a decent Android experience. Plus the long battery life is a true bonus. The cameras are very usable, with the night mode, in particular, impressing me during the test. There are a few niggles here and there, such as the glitches in the Notification area and problems setting up Google Pay in the UK, but for the most part the iQoo 7 5G is a solid contender in the mid-range space.

iQOO 7 is no doubt a beautifully designed smartphone in this price band. The AMOLED display looks crisp and offers some good colour reproduction and good viewing angles. It comes with a top-of-the-line specs sheet and the price point easily makes it accessible to a large audience. With super fast flash charging, you need not worry about battery life with this smartphone. Overall, iQOO 7 has a lot to offer and if you have a budget of around Rs 35,000 then this is the right Flagship Killer, you are looking for.

Because of very noticeable artifacts (both spectral and temporal), elevated background noise, and inconsistent tonal balance, the iQOO 7 Legend is less than ideal to use as a recording device, especially in high SPL scenarios. As a speaker, Vivo’s latest flagship performs somewhat better, thanks to adequate treble presence, overall decent dynamics and spatial attributes, very good volume qualities, and an appreciable ability for keeping sonic artifacts to a minimum. That said, timbre inconsistencies and a mixed performance still keep the iQOO 7 Legend quite a ways down the table from top-scoring devices like the Black Shark 4 Pro.

The iQOO 7 retails for Rs 31,990 in India, though buyers opting for the phone can avail numerous offers and get the MRP down to as low as Rs 30K. For the price, the device brings a lot of enticing features to the table including excellent performance, a gorgeous design, capable cameras, and stupendously fast 66W wired charging.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
