Reviews for the Nubia RedMagic 6R

81.4% Nubia RedMagic 6R smartphone review - Gaming with 144 Hz and hot fingers | Notebookcheck
The RedMagic 6R is nominally a powerful gaming smartphone with Snapdragon 888, 144 Hz AMOLED display and shoulder buttons. High-end equipment rounds off the total package for less than 500 Euros (~$588). Sounds like a bargain, but it is not only the cooling that causes problems in the test.
70% RedMagic 6R review: This isn't the gaming phone you're looking for
Source: Android Central English
The RedMagic 6R has the distinction of being the most affordable phone in North America to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 chipset. The device delivers outstanding gaming performance and doesn't throttle under sustained load. The gaming triggers are also a nifty addition, and the 144Hz AMOLED panel is a delight to use. That said, the cameras aren't great, and the phone misses out in several critical areas, making it a poor choice in this category.

The Nubia RedMagic 6R is a beastly gaming phone that comes with compromises
Source: Mobile Syrup English
The phone is 5G capable and weighs in at 186 grams, which is reasonable for a gaming phone of this calibre. The main body of the device is 6.42-inches in length, 2.96-inches in width and 0.31-inches in height. Further, the phone supports dual sim, though it doesn’t have an additional memory card slot. The phone is available in ‘128GB storage, 6GB RAM,’ ‘128GB storage, 8GB RAM,’ ‘128GB storage, 12GB RAM’ and ‘256GB storage, 12GB RAM’ variants. It features a dual-LED flash setup, supports HDR, Panorama and can record 8K video at 30 frames per second. While the Nubia RedMagic 6R certainly has its issues, if focused primarily on the device’s gaming capabilities, it will likely impress you. And considering the pocket-friendly price tag of $499, it’s safe to say that the 6R is more than capable of being used as a regular day-to-day device with minor hiccups and compromises.

Qualcomm Adreno 660: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 35% faster than the Adreno 650 in the Snapdragon 865 SoC and offers a 20% better power efficiency. For Android it should be one of the fastest graphics cards in 2021.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Integrates one “Prime Core” based on a ARM Cortex-X1 architecture clocked at up to 2.84 GHz. Three more performance cores are based on the A78 but clock up to 2.42 GHz. Furthermore, four energy saving cores are integrated that are based on the ARM Cortex-A55 architecture and clock at up to 1.8 GHz. In addition to the processor cores, the SoC integrates a WiFi 6e modem, a Hexagon 780 DSP (up to 26 TOPS of AI performance) and a Spectra 580 ISP. The integrated memory controller now supports faster LPDDR5 memory with up to 3,200 MHz. 5G is now included in the chip with the Snapdragon X60 modem.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

Only a few smartphones have larger screens.
Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.

75.7%: This rating is not convincing. The laptop is evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.
