Vivo Y05 released with 6,500 mAh battery and rear-mounted IR blaster

Vivo has just released a new entry-level 4G smartphone. The Y05 features a 6.74-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,600 × 720 (260 ppi), up to a 120 Hz refresh rate, 1,200 nits of peak brightness, and 83% coverage of the NTSC color space.
The handset is powered by a 12-nm Unisoc T7225 chipset (2x Cortex A75 boosting up to 1.8 GHz + 6x Cortex A55 at a 1.8 GHz clock speed) paired with 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, which can be expanded by an additional 2 TB thanks to the microSD card slot. The 6,500 mAh battery can charge at up to 15 W, while the software side is covered by the company's OriginOS 6.0 based on Android 16.
On the rear, there's an 8-megapixel sensor paired with an f/2.0 lens, while the second camera cutout curiously houses an IR blaster, allowing the phone to act as a universal remote. There's also a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Other features include an RGB notification light, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, IP65 ingress protection, as well as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Vivo Y05 is already available in some countries, such as Malaysia, where it goes for RM 399 (~$102).
