Galaxy S26 Plus: New plus-sized flagship launching with Galaxy S26 Ultra matching battery life

The launches of the Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra are almost upon us. Samsung will not begin selling either smartphone until after the end of its launch event on February 25. Nonetheless, Ytechb has got its hands on EU energy labels for the pair ahead of time. A striking change for both smartphones compared to their predecessors is the drop in battery longevity.
For context, the EU rates the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $833 - refurbished on Amazon) as retaining 80% of their peak battery capacities after 2,000 charge cycles. By contrast, the Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Plus Ultra will hit this level of battery wear with just 1,200 cycles under their belts. The EU believes that the Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra will deliver the same 55-hour runtimes under its testing conditions, too.
This is with the former featuring a 100 mAh smaller battery than the latter, though. Leaked specification sheets indicate that this discrepancy can be attributed to the pair featuring different chipsets in Europe. Specifically, Samsung is expected to equip the Galaxy S26 Plus with the Exynos 2600. By contrast, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra will recharge faster than its Plus sibling though, with 60 W wired and 25 W wireless charging in its favour compared to 45 W and 15 W, respectively, for the Galaxy S26 Plus. Currently, the Galaxy S26 Plus is tipped to launch in the Eurozone for €1,269 (~$1,495). Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 Ultra should be available in the same market from €1,459 (~$1,719).
