Ubisoft to make Anno 1404 History Edition free to download and keep forever
Anno Union and Ubisoft have decided to make Anno 1404 History Edition free to download for a short time as part of Ubisoft's 35th anniversary celebrations. Starting Monday, December 6, the game will be available from Uplay without paying a penny. The deal begins at 15:00 UTC on Monday and ends on December 14 at 14:00 UTC.
Currently, the game costs £12.49 on the Ubisoft Store, although it is cheaper in other markets. Anno 1404 debuted in June 2009 and received a Venice-based expansion in February 2010, which added multiplayer, among other features. Hence, the game has moderate system requirements by modern standards.
Specifically, your system needs 4 GB of RAM, and at least an AMD FX-4130 or Intel Core i3-3220 processor to run Anno 1404 History Edition. Additionally, you must have a GPU that matches the performance of a GeForce GTX 660 (2 GB) or a Radeon R7 265X (2 GB). A GeForce GTX 770 (4 GB), a Radeon RX 470 (4 GB) or better is recommended, though.
Ubisoft describes Anno 1404 History Edition as follows:
Discover the classic city-building gameplay of Anno 1404 and its expansion Venice, fully updated for modern operating systems.
The Venice expansion for Anno 1404 adds co-operative and competitive multiplayer, new espionage and city council features, as well as new ships, quests and items to expand your empire with.

Take advantage of improvements like borderless window mode and multi-screen support.
This edition also offers bonus content including a soundtrack and a wallpaper, as well as a company logo for Anno 1800.
