€1836 Acer Nitro 5 laptop with the unannounced Alder Lake i7-12700H and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti listed on French eCommerce site

A French eCommerce platform appears to have listed a new Acer Nitro 5 laptop variant, sporting an Alder Lake i7-12700H and the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. While the laptop is currently listed as "out of stock," the selling price is remarkably competitive. At €1836 after tax, the Alder Lake and Ampere-powered gaming laptop is a good €400 cheaper than some Nitro 5 models with the GeForce RTX 3080 and Ryzen 7 5800H. 

The non-Ti mobile GeForce RTX 3070 is often just 10-15 percent slower than the mobile GeForce RTX 3080. With more CUDA cores, the Nitro 5's GeForce RTX 3070 Ti could get within a few percentage points of the flagship GPU, at a significantly lower price. Meanwhile, the Alder Lake i7-12700H is in a class of its own, beating even the Ryzen 9 5900HX by over 30 percent.

Apart from the CPU and GPU, the new model is mostly a match for the older Nitro 5, with an identical QHD 165 Hz display, but somewhat less memory and storage. 

At €1836, this new Acer Nitro 5 model could be a price-performance champ when it launches.
