Beelink is mostly known for its mini PC models, especially those AMD-powered ones, but the Chinese company offers other types of devices, as well. For example, the new Expand X is a USB dock that allows mobile devices to be used as desktop computers connected to monitor screens.
The Expand X features a light magnesium-aluminum case with a special hinge that flips out to support the mobile device of your choice. Users can connect phones, tablets, or even portable consoles like the Nintendo Switch. Port selection includes and HDMI video output for monitors with up to 4K resolution, 2x USB-A connectors for keyboards, mice, external storage etc., 1x USB-C to connect the mobile device to the dock, 1x USB-C to power the mobile device, and a micro USB port to hook the dock to a PC. There also is a button that allows users to quickly switch what device to control via the peripherals connected to the dock.
While in computer mode, the dock is compatible with interfaces like Huawei EMUI and Samsung DEX. Users can thus comfortably operate all mobile apps via keyboard and mouse though a larger monitor, or watch movies and even play mobile / console games on a large TV.
This dock can now be pre-ordered through Indiegogo or directly from the Beelink site for only US$39.90, with estimated shipping dates set for April.
