Toyota brings its Crown car seat to offices and homes, albeit in very limited quantities

Car seats are designed to be very comfortable, and for those in modern cars, they pack a lot of features, considering people can be seated in one for hours. So why not replicate that design for an office chair? That's what Toyota has done with its new limited edition office chair that is based on the front seat of its luxury Toyota Crown model.
Toyota Boshoku, an automotive component manufacturer and a subsidiary of the Toyota Group, has announced a limited edition office chair that is based on the power front seats of the current Crown models. In the official press release, Toyota says the legs, the height adjustment mechanism, and the armrest were designed by Itoki Corporation, a Japanese furniture company.
While there are office chairs or gaming chairs that have a design inspired by a car or tied to a car brand such as the Vertagear SL3800 Audi Edition gaming chair or the Secretlab Automobili Lamborghini Edition gaming chairs, Toyota's chair actually has features that are found in car seats.
Called the Crown Seat, the chair has three-level heating and ventilation (built-in fan), powered reclining and height adjustment, tilt function, and lumbar support. Toyota has even retained the seatbelt buckle, but added a USB-C port to it, so users can charge their devices via the built-in rechargeable battery.
The Crown Seat office chair will be available in limited quantities and sold as part of The Crown Collection. This is described as an original collection offered by The Crown, a specialty store in Japan. Pricing begins at JPY 495,000 ($3,119/€2,661). Only 70 units will be available, and pre-order already began on April 23. According to Toyota, if there are more pre-orders than the available units, buyers will be selected using a lottery system.
Based on the limited number available, we can rule out availability in other regions.
