With good looks, a compact and relatively light design, in addition to a good array of features, the $999 Toshiba Satellite L750 represents good value for money. We think it would be a good choice for a home user, student or even an office worker who wants something small, affordable and good looking.

Ideal only for people who are looking for a full-size laptop, but don't want to spend any more money than is absolutely necessary, the Toshiba Satellite L755-5244 is ultimately an okay machine—and nothing more than that. If you want a better system all around, go for the Lenovo IdeaPad V570-1066A9U. If longer battery life is what matters, the HP Pavilion dv6-6013cl fits the bill. If you don't care about those things and want to save money, the L755-5244 will do the trick. It just won't do much of anything else spectacular to go along with it.

The Satellite L755 (or Satellite L750 if you configure it on Toshiba.com) is what I call a very safe choice for a laptop. It has just the right amount of speed and performance for the typical student or home user, it doesn’t break the budget and it’s design is decent though not stunning. Is the L755 built as well as a business laptop or MacBook Pro? No, but it also costs half as much. You can spend $1,000 and get a nicer laptop than the Satellite L755, but will it be twice as good as the $499 you can pay for this on Amazon.com? Not likely, so if the Satellite L755 fits your needs in a laptop, meaning you don’t need it to do any intense 3D gaming and you don’t need something that’s extremely portable and easy to carry, the Satellite L755 is it.

For the student on a budget, or the parent buying them their first laptop, the Toshiba Satellite L755-S527 is just the right fit for an inexpensive laptop that offers both productivity and entertainment features. Buyers looking for a fuller feature set in the same price range might be more interested in the Editors' Choice Asus U56E-BBL5, which has WiMAX and WiDi 2.0, in addition to a longer battery life and more powerful processor.

Plain average. Toshiba brings a 15.6 inch notebook for €700 onto the market called Satellite L750. The multimedia notebook is to especially attract customers with average requirements and who want to occasionally play a little game besides Office tasks, pictures and movies.

Toshiba: Toshiba Corporation is a Japanese conglomerate or technology group. The company was established in 1939 and in 1978 Toshiba became the official company name. Toshiba was one of the largest manufacturers of personal computers, consumer electronics, home appliances and medical equipment.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M: Based on the GeForce GT 425M with slightly higher core clock speeds.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics: Onboard graphics card that is built in the new Arrandale CPUs (Core i3 / i5 / i7 Dual Cores). Depending on the model and Turbo Boost, the GMA HD is clocked between 166 and 766 MHz.
Intel HD Graphics (Sandy Bridge): Processor graphics card which is integrated in the Sandy Bridge Pentium and Celeron processors. Similar to the desktop HD Graphics 2000 and not related to the old Arrandale processor graphics with the same name.
Intel HD Graphics 3000: Integrated graphics card in the Intel Sandy Bridge processors (Core ix-2xxx). The HD 3000 is the faster (internally GT2 called) version with 12 Execution Units (EUs).

Intel Core i5:
2410M:
Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.3 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.6-2.9 GHz) and the GPU at 650 (1200 MHz Turbo).
2430M: Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.4 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.7-3 GHz) and the GPU at 650 (1200 MHz Turbo).
Intel Pentium:
B940:
Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. Due to the Pentium brand, many features of the Sandy Bridge core are deactivated.
Intel Core i3:
2310M:
Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.1 GHz and features the Turbo Boost 2.0 only for the graphics card (650/1100MHz).
2330M:
Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.2 GHz and features the Turbo Boost 2.0 only for the graphics card (650/1100MHz).
2350M:
Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.3 GHz and features the Turbo Boost 2.0 only for the graphics card.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
2670QM: Fast Quad-core processor clocked at 2.2-3.1 GHz based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.

2.2 kg:
3 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
72.18%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
