With a vibrant 15.6-inch 1080p display and a DVD drive, the Toshiba Satellite P55-A5200 would have been a slam dunk in the days before touch-enabled displays. But lacking touch and weighing almost twice as much as ultrabooks, the P55 may be overpriced at $649.

The Toshiba Satellite P55-A5200 is a decent desktop replacement laptop that will keep regular PC users happy. It has the power to last more than the next few years, Windows 8 compatibility, and a huge non-touch screen for your media creation and appreciation.

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.
