Reviews for the Toshiba Satellite L70-B-11C
Source: Techradar

The L70 has a better screen than the S50D, but the Core i5 processor can't match the APU inside the smaller Toshiba when it comes to getting the balance right between applications and games. Ergonomically, the larger laptop is thicker and heavier while offering no real improvement. The Lenovo has similar performance inside a slimmer and more versatile chassis. Toshiba's larger L70 is only worth buying if the added screen resolution and quality is the prime consideration.

Model:
The Toshiba Satellite L70-B-11C is a general purpose laptop with a mid-range price. The outside is made from metallic plastic which, some say, lacks the standard firmness. The keyboard and screen frame are shiny black, whilst the wrist rest area is a strip of off-white plastic. This wrist area is slightly unsteady and the keys do not really work well. With 2.7 kg, it is not really lightweight and requires a case or bag for protection against physical damage.
This is a multimedia desktop replacement system designed for viewing images in high resolution. Its 17.3 inch screen has adequate brightness and offers easy viewing from various angles. The Intel Core i5 processor is enough for daily tasks like word processing, watching movies, listening to songs, but not for performance demanding tasks like high-end games, Photoshop, movie editing or intense multi-tasking.
For casual gamers, there is an Intel HD Graphics 4400 card, which is enough for usual modern games. The laptop comes with a 6 GB DDR3 1.6 GHz RAM, and 750 GB HDD internal storage drive. There is a 1 MP webcam for basic functions like Skyping. The rest of the features is also rather basic.
Series:
The main standout feature of this Toshiba offering is the large 17.3 inch screen, a real treat for those who like big and dramatic displays. The enormous screen on this laptop purportedly replaces the need for a conventional desktop, and offers all the usual features a PC offers. Users can choose between a myriad of Intel processor (up to i7) or multi core AMD A-Series processors as hardware.
This will undoubtedly be sufficient to store files, data and even entertainment like games, music and movies. Speaking of which, the laptop comes equipped with a DVD player, which can optionally be upgraded to a Blu-ray player. There are also chambered speakers powered by DTS. As usual, there are USB 3 and HDMI ports for all your data transfer needs. Design wise, it comes in a glossy metallic color, suitable for both business and pleasure. Rounded corners embellished in silver give it an added touch of class.
A USB sleep and charge port allows users to charge any external electrical gadget via a USB cable even when the laptop is switched off. This general purpose laptop is worth its mid-range price as it can cater to virtually any need.
