The Life360 has announced that it will acquire Tile, buying the company out for just over $205 million. The acquisition has the potential to expand and streamline the location-tracking features involved in the services offered by both companies. For example, it might expand the current Tile network by about 10x.
Life360 offers an Android and iOS app of the same name that allows groups such as families to form private "circles" within which their members' location and movements can be tracked and shared. This, according to the company, creates a smart security bubble for the users in question. Now, it has made its plans to expand its operations through the absorption of Tile official.
This, according to Tile and Life360, will allow the 2 companies to combine and thereby advance their respective location-tracking services. For example, they project that the former's hardware-based Network will be greatly expanded thanks to the software and 33 million-strong user-base of the latter.
All in all, Life360 now asserts that Tile will form part of a future "world leader in finding and location solutions" on its acquisition. The process is to become complete in the first quarter of 2022.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
