Three months since its introduction, the Samsung Galaxy A80 finally hits the market
Almost three months ago, the Samsung Galaxy A80 was officially unveiled in Thailand as the brand's first phablet (those who call it "smartphone" should reconsider it since we are talking about a device with a 6.7-inch display) without a notch or a cutout — a design approach made possible by the use of a single sliding camera assembly. Now, the time has arrived for it to go on sale.
The Galaxy A80 features 25 W fast charging and the performance of its triple rear camera setup is improved in certain scenarios — augmented reality apps and video background blur, for example — by a ToF camera. The triple camera setup features 48, 8, and 5 MP sensors. This device with a 6.7-inch full-screen Super AMOLED display has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor inside, alongside 8 GB of memory and 128 GB of internal storage space. Sadly, there is no microSD support and no traditional 3.5 mm audio jack.
The three color choices one can choose from are known as Angel Gold, Ghost White, and Phantom Black. Sadly, the Samsung Galaxy A80 is quite expensive, starting at over US$700. However, its price varies depending on market and retailer.
What is the best deal you can get for the Samsung Galaxy A80 in your country? Is there any other similar device you would buy for around the same price? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments section, as usual.
