Google’s Chromebooks aren’t exactly known for their gaming chops, however the launch of Google’s streaming game service Stadia changed all of that. To help give the fledgling gaming service a shot in the arm, Google has updated its Chromebook perks page with a couple of nice offers for buyers of select Chromebooks listed on the Google Store. While anyone can join Stadia and enjoy some of its free titles, the offers apply to the Pro subscription based tier which offers access to the latest AAA gaming titles.
While anyone can also enjoy a free month of Stadia Pro, the new perk for Chromebook customers extends this offer to three months. This works out to a total saving of US$9.99 per month although anyone that signs up should be aware the service will then charge you US$9.99 per month following the end of the trial period should you not cancel first. Then again, you might love it (depending on how robust your internet service is) and choose to simply enjoy the initial discounted period.
The second offer gives new Chromebook buyers a US$20 discount on the Stadia Premiere Edition bundle. Normally US$99, the Premiere Edition bundle includes a Stadia controller and a Chromecast Ultra. As an added bonus, if you are already a Google One customer, you can save an additional 10 percent off your purchase. If you are thinking about getting a Google Chromebook (like the excellent Lenovo Chromebook Duet) but were sitting on the fence, this could be a good time to jump on board -- accessing both perks is nearly US$50 in added value.
