These are all the new Googlebooks releasing today with standardized high-end specs and premium builds
After several months of teasing, Google is finally making its new Googlebook laptop lineup available for preorder today. The new Googlebooks run on an Android core optimized for desktop use and promise seamless interoperability with Android smartphones together with native, on-device AI capabilities powered by Gemini Intelligence.
The initial launch wave includes Googlebook offerings from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
Google's baseline specs are impressive
Unlike Chromebooks, Googlebooks are premium laptops with baseline hardware specifications common across the entire lineup. At a minimum, all Googlebooks feature:
- Dedicated 40+ TOPS NPU
- 16 GB of RAM (up to 32 GB)
- 256 GB to 512 GB+ of storage
- 14 hours of video playback (16 hours of web browsing)
- 2.8K touch display
- Glowbar
- Backlit keyboard
- Haptic touchpad
- Dolby Atmos sound and microphones with background noise cancellation
Google says that all Googlebooks feature premium builds made of aluminum, magnesium alloy, and/or carbon fiber for a lightweight yet durable experience.
Googlebooks also feature an RGB Glowbar that displays light patterns during boot and indicates battery levels, Gemini interactions, and more. Google is providing SDK access to the Glowbar, allowing developers to create custom, interactive animations.

Today's Googlebook launch lineup includes the Acer Googlebook 14, which is the only convertible of the bunch, the Asus Googlebook 14, the Dell XPS Googlebook, the HP Googlebook 14, and the Lenovo Googlebook 15.
