With Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist, indie studio Resolute Games has unveiled a new virtual reality MMORPG set to launch a Kickstarter campaign soon. Their goal: "To bring the spirit of classic MMOs into a modern VR world." A first teaser trailer, released on April 24, already offers a glimpse of the gameplay:
In Eldramoor, players begin as castaways stranded on a mysterious island. Stepping into the shoes of aspiring heroes, they explore four distinct biomes, take on quests, battle enemies, craft gear, fish or unwind in cozy taverns – all echoing the charm of classic MMOs like World of Warcraft, but brought to life in virtual reality.
Beyond its dynamic combat and flexible class system, Eldramoor will feature deep character customization – free from gender restrictions and rich with options for clothing, gear and colors. Players won’t just fight and explore; they’ll be able to climb, glide, hunt for treasure and join community events. The developers envision the game not only as a long-term content experience, but also as a social platform for creative, adventurous VR players.
Right now, Eldramoor faces little competition as an MMO tailored for VR platforms. While titles like Zenith: The Last City and OrbusVR: Reborn have ventured into the space, they’ve largely flown under the radar. According to SteamDB, OrbusVR: Reborn has struggled to attract more than a handful of concurrent players throughout the year.
Kickstarter soon to go live – release planned for 2026
An exact date for the Kickstarter launch hasn’t been announced yet, but the project page is already live. Eldramoor is currently slated for release in December 2026. It’s already listed on Steam and a dedicated subreddit is following the game's development closely.
Initial reactions in the Reddit community are largely positive, though tempered with caution. Many users are excited about the prospect of a deep VR MMORPG, praising Eldramoor’s setting and creative features. At the same time, there’s some skepticism around long-term funding, consistent content updates and the relatively small VR player base. Users are also voicing hopes for cross-play, flat screen support and a release across as many platforms as possible.
