The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air (2019) is now official, starting at US$536

Those who missed the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air so far might get lucky with its successor, although it is only available in China for now. This successor is simply known as the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air (2019) and weighs just 2.4 pounds, and the starting price is not far from the US$500 price tag carried by the original Mi Notebook Air.

Just as expected, the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air (2019) was officially unveiled in China on March 26. These are the prices of the models available — converted to USD — and their highlights:

• US$536: Intel Core m3-8100Y processor, 4 GB of memory, 128 GB internal storage
• US$596: Intel Core m3-8100Y processor, 4 GB of memory, 256 GB internal storage
• US$640: Intel Core i5-8200Y processor, 4 GB of memory, 256 GB internal storage

The list of common specs and features includes a metal body, Harman Kardon audio with DTS surround, a 12.5-inch full HD display with very thin bezels (0.22 inches), as well as a battery of undisclosed capacity that can get up to 50 percent in just 35 minutes.

These being said, remains to see if (and when, if the answer is affirmative) Xiaomi will decide to add a model with 8 GB of memory and bring this portable to the US market.
