The Vivo X80 series is tipped to launch with a camera hump much like that of the flagship X Note and X Fold, albeit with a slightly different arrangement of lenses. In fact, the latest leak on the subject suggest that even the most 'vanilla' X80 will come with a long rear-panel window, within which an off-center round hump contains its main sensors. They are found in a 2x2 configuration that supplants an upper-right lens with a Zeiss logo.
Therefore, the X80 has 3 main cameras, whereas its Pro counterpart (or counterparts?) has an additional, square periscope lens, tucked into 1 corner of the main black glass window. The base model may have larger lenses in its circle, thereby hinting at different specs compared to any Pro versions that might emerge.
The most recent "Vivo X80 poster" leak suggests that the OEM intends to market the phones as capable of "professional photography", thanks to attributes such as "1.57-3.4 OIS", now also allegedly joined by cryptic references to "1/1.3 GNV". Finally, the X80s are now thought to launch in an almost cyan-like blue and in orange, as well as the black and green finishes spotted previously.
Vivo may have gotten sick of this profusion of leaks, as it has now gone ahead and confirmed that the X80 series will debut on April 25, 2022 in China, as suspected earlier (and in orange, too). The OEM is currently believed to introduce a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-based Pro+ flagship, as well as (the at least equally interesting-seeming) Dimensity 9000-powered Pro that may end up exclusive to the Chinese market, during this event.
