Schenker Key 15 (Clevo PC50DN2) in review: A lot of performance in a slim, compact case
Thanks to its powerful hardware, the soberly designed Schenker Key 15 brings all the latest computer games smoothly onto the matte 15.6-inch screen (Full HD, IPS, 144 Hz). The device can be individually customized to your own needs. In addition, the BIOS enables the undervolting of the CPU and iGPU.

With the Key 15, Schenker has a compact, lightweight 15.6-inch gaming laptop in its product range that is based on the PC50DN2 barebone from Clevo. The laptop can be customized to your own needs and ordered in the Schenker online store. The storage device, memory, WLAN module, software, operating system, processor, graphics core, and display can be selected individually.
The configuration variant provided to us is powered by a Core i7-10875H octa-core processor and a GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q graphics core. The hardware brings all modern computer games smoothly onto the matte Full HD screen. Maximum quality settings can always be selected here. In addition, the computer's BIOS enables the so-called "undervolting" of the processor and the integrated GPU. Both components can be operated at lower voltages than those provided by the manufacturer. As a result, energy consumption and heat development are lower.
The laptop offers space for two M.2 2280 SSDs (1x NVMe, 1x NVMe or SATA). If both slots are equipped with NVMe SSDs, these could form a RAID 0 or RAID 1 array if required. Memory can be expanded up to 64 GB. Since the laptop doesn't have a maintenance hatch, the bottom cover of the case needs to be removed for the corresponding procedures - no complex task.
The Full HD display (IPS, 144 Hz) offers stable viewing angles, a matte surface, good contrast, fast response times, decent color reproduction, and acceptable color-space coverage. The maximum brightness is quite low, though.

What started as a side job during my computer science studies later became my main job: For more than 20 years now I have been working as an editor and author in the IT sector. While working in the print sector I also contributed to the creation of various loose-leaf publications and published original written pieces. I have been working for Notebookcheck since 2012.

I've been fascinated with technology ever since I got my very first Android smartphone, which was quite a while ago. The power packed into such a small footprint still amazes me. Learning to program made my understanding of technology deeper, and at the same time, it expanded my interest to the area of desktop computers and laptops. All this led me to enjoy reading and watching reviews of new devices, and that's how I stumbled upon Notebookcheck. I immediately found their reviews to be very comprehensive, and luckily, I've even had the chance of translating them since 2019. When it comes to the huge field of technology, I'm currently also interested in specializing in Java programming.
