The Retroid Pocket 4 Pro is just a few months shy of its second anniversary, and while there are better retro gaming handhelds available, the Pocket 4 Pro is worth considering for those on a budget. Now, the manufacturer has reduced the price, making it even more affordable.
Retroid is currently running a sale, offering the Pocket 4 Pro for just $149. The price matches what we saw a few months ago during the 618 festival. However, while Retroid says that the new price translates to $50 off its launch price of $199, the Android handheld has not been sold at full price for a while now, as they have been available on Amazon for $174 for months now.
The Retroid Pocket 4 Pro is available to buy in just two colors — Black and 16Bit US — as the other colors are listed as out of stock. For $149, buyers get a handheld with a 4.7-inch 1334 x 750 touch IPS display, a Dimensity 1100 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB (UFS 3.1) of expandable storage. The Pocket 4 Pro also has a cooling fan, symmetrical thumbsticks, analog triggers, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, a 5,000mAh battery, and ships with Android 13 out of the box.
There's a USB-C port at the bottom with support for display output, thus allowing users to connect it to a larger display, a pair of XR glasses like the RayNeo Air 3s, or even a second screen such as the Retroid Dual Screen Add-on. Speaking about the Retroid Dual Screen Add-on, Retroid has fixed the compatibility issue with the Pocket 4 Pro via a software update, so it's worth grabbing, too.
