The Redmi 9 Power is now slated to launch with quad rear cameras on December 17, 2020
Redmi is now projected to unleash a device called the 9 Power on the Indian market soon. It was rumored to simply be based heavily on the Note 9 4G, although that may well have been fine by some consumers based on its specs. However, a prominent tipster now asserts that the device will get at least 1 modification before going to its new region.
Ishan Agarwal has shared an image purported to be of the Redmi 9 Power, in conjunction with the blog 91Mobiles. It is indeed a lot like a Note 9 4G on first glance, right down to the blue rear panel. However, it has 1 extra lens in its camera hump: a smaller one next to the 3 in a vertical line as in the pre-existing affordable option.
According to this joint leak, it may be a 2MP macro camera, to go with the 48MP (main), 8MP (ultrawide) and 2MP (depth) sensors already found in the new Note 9 variant. Otherwise, the 2 phones are touted to remain identical, down to the Snapdragon 662 SoC, 6.53-inch display and (possibly most importantly) 6000mAh battery.
The 9 Power is also now thought to launch on December 17, 2020. Its pricing and availability remain a mystery, however. For context, its rumored Chinese-market template has helped Xiaomi rack up the sales by starting at 999 yuan (~US$153/INR 11270), although this may now not translate directly thanks to the extra camera.
