Earlier in the day, alongside the Redmi Note 9T, Xiaomi also announced the Redmi 9T. The Redmi 9T is the European variant of the Note 9 4G that launched in China and the Redmi 9 Power that launched in India last December.
The Xiaomi Redmi 9T is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. Buyers can choose between 64 GB (UFS 2.1) and 128 GB (UFS 2.2) storage options. Similar to the Note 9T, the Redmi 9T also sports a 6.53-inch "DotDrop" 400-nit FHD+ display. Unlike the Note 9T, the Redmi 9T uses a centrally located teardrop notch on the top bezel to house the 8 MP selfie camera.
Speaking of cameras, the Redmi 9 sports a 48 MP (main) + 8 MP (120 degrees ultra-wide) + 2 MP (macro) + 2 MP (depth) AI quad-camera setup. Note that the quad-camera setup is seen only in the European Redmi 9T and the Indian Redmi 9 Power; the Chinese Note 9 4G offers only a triple rear cameras.
Widevine L1 support means it is possible to stream content in HD from providers such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. Powering the hardware is a 6,000 mAh battery with 18 W fast charging support.
The Xiaomi Redmi 9T will be available in Carbon Gray, Twilight Blue, Sunrise Orange, and Ocean Green color options. The device is slated to go on sale in Germany on January 15 for €169.90 for the 4/64 GB model and €199.90 for the 4/128 GB model.
