The Realme GT Neo is set to launch on March 31, 2021 as the mid-range version of the flagship GT. Then again, according to its latest leaks, it will do so with pretty much all the best aspects of its premium sibling, its 120Hz AMOLED panel and 3.5mm jack included. It will, however, pack the crucial difference of a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC in place of a Snapdragon 888.

The Realme GT Neo will debut in less than a week from today (March 26, 2021). However, this does not stop new rumors about this upcoming phone flying. Various tipsters now purport to spill many more details about the phone prior to its formal introduction.

Abhishek Yadav, for example, now asserts that the Neo will be graced with many of the better specs from the "main" GT. They include an AMOLED display that, moreover, rocks a high-end 120Hz refresh rate (then again, whether the 2 variants will thus have the exact same display is unclear as yet).

The Neo may also have a 4,500mAh battery with Realme's 65W SuperDart charging technology, as does the premium GT. The 2 phones may also share their OEM's latest UI based on Android 11, not to mention up-to-date LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 speeds for internal storage.

Finally, the GT Neo might even also have a headphone jack. However, there may be a significant difference  between it and the flagship phone besides their chipsets, and that is the upcoming model's price. The prolific leaker Digital Chat Station indicates that the Dimensity 1200-powered Neo will start at around 1,999 yuan. This should put it in the ~US$300 price bracket, whereas the GT goes for at least 2,899 yuan (~$444).

Then again, the the 2 devices are not likely to come in exactly the same chassis: a new leak from @Geek_Cao on Weibo suggests the new mid-ranger will come finished with a stripe of the same new holographic effect also seen in the freshly-launched 8 series.

All in all, should these new rumors prove true, the Realme GT Neo has the potential to be the phone the iQOO Z3 could have been - not to mention the ability to clean up in the affordable 5G space. Let's just hope it avoids the original GT's post-launch issues.
