Meizu is set to launch the 17 5G, a phone already linked to impressive specs such as the Snapdragon 865 SoC, memory with UFS 3.1 speeds and 30 watt (W) charging, soon. However, on that last point, the OEM has never mention wireless charging in relation to this phone. A new leak may explain why.
The 17 is also currently rumored to come with a Pro variant, which may, for example, get a waterfall-type display whereas the base model will have a flat front panel. The putative phone is also thought to come with LPDDR5 RAM, whereas the 17 may not.
The Pro may also come with 40W charging, flavored with Meizu's own in-house mCharge standard. Furthermore, it may be the only one of its new series to offer wireless charging. This detail has allegedly been exclusively shared with GizmoChina by DigitalChatStation. However, it is still obviously subject to verification at the May 8, 2020 event in question.
