The OPPO Reno3 series was among the first to introduce new Snapdragon and MediaTek 5G SoCs to the market in 2020. Now, a new leak from IceUniverse may show that at least 1 of its successors is in the works. It consists of an image of a phone in which the rear cameras are divided into separate circles, like those of LG's latest release.
Deirdre O Donnell,

The OPPO Reno3 and 3 Pro are well-spec'd mid-rangers with 5G besides, as well as some 4G-only spin-offs since the launch of their original models. Now, according to a new photo posted to Weibo by the well-known tipster IceUniverse, they are to be replaced by a next generation soon.

This image shows a phone with a novel rear panel, placed next to a physical promotional display that clearly reads "Reno4". The device itself exhibits quad rear cameras - or perhaps 3 main lenses and a smaller depth-sensor.

The truly interesting detail about this leak is how comparable this apparent new phone is in terms of looks to the LG Velvet. Therefore, should it prove valid, it seems the Korean OEM has set a new design trend off for late 2020/2021. However, such a Reno may be the more cost-effective of the two.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
