Nothing's first and only pair of open earbuds, the Ear (Open), are available to buy at a discount for a limited time. The earbuds have a 30-hour battery life, an adjustable equalizer, and a hook design for a secure fit. They are also compatible with Android and iPhones.

Announced in September 2024, the Ear (Open) are Nothing's first pair of open ear wireless earbuds. When they launched, they cost $149, but for a limited time, they can be purchased for significantly less.

The Nothing Ear (Open) earbuds are currently discounted on Amazon, and can be purchased for $99 instead of $149, which translates to $50 off. That price makes them cheaper than rivals such as the $299 Bose Ultra Open Earbuds.

Nothing's Ear (Open) have an ear hook design that is flexible and made from skin-friendly silicone. The ear hooks ensure the earbuds stay in place without discomfort. They are rated IP54 for dust and water resistance, which makes them suitable to wear for exercising or under light rain.

Each earbud weighs 8.1 grams, features a titanium-coated dynamic driver, and includes two microphones that work in tandem with AI-enhanced technology to eliminate noise and reduce echo during calls. The Nothing Ear (Open) features Bluetooth 5.3 and supports Microsoft Swift Pair and Google Fast Pair for seamless pairing with devices. There's also support for Bluetooth Multipoint, so users can pair them to two devices simultaneously.

The Earbuds have a battery life of 8 hours and a total of 30 hours with the charging case. When the battery is low, a quick 10-minute charge will provide 2 hours of playback. The Nothing Ear (Open) have a low-lag gaming mode that reduces latency to less than 120ms. Nothing says the feature automatically kicks in if the earbuds are connected to a Nothing smartphone. Another feature of the earbuds that is exclusive to Nothing smartphones is access to ChatGPT.

The Nothing Ear (Open) are compatible with the Nothing X app (available for Android and iOS), which has an advanced 8-band equalizer. Owners can also use the app to configure the earbuds' pinch controls, find their earbuds, and update the firmware.

While the Nothing Ear (Open) pack lots of features and have a 4.2 star-rating on Amazon, they are not without shortcomings. In our review, we noted the lack of Hi-Res Bluetooth codecs and the absence of wear detection. The ear hook design will also be an issue for those who wear glasses, and at 8.1 grams per earbud, they are noticeably heavier than open-earbuds without hooks, such as the Amazfit Up, which weigh 5 grams per earbud.
